Gabriele Perico played for Leeds United in their match against Atalanta yesterday.
Leeds United fans were unimpressed with Gabriele Perico’s trial performance for them against Atalanta yesterday.
Perico was selected to start in Leeds’ friendly match, but he was substituted at half-time.
Leeds went on to win the match 2-1 against Atalanta, but Perico's involvement was not particularly notable.
The 32-year-old failed to make much of an impression on the match, and Leeds supporters seem distinctly unenthused over the prospect of him signing.
Perico looked slow and off the boil with the odd flashes of competence. Coyle looked as strong as ever at RB and Taylor again class #LUFC— MJD (@MattLufc95) July 30, 2016
That Perico kid had the worst debut at Elland Road since Bessone and Monks contemplating signing him ffs #lufc— Adam Webster (@adswebbo) July 30, 2016
Perico wasn't as bad as people make him out to be, but I'm still a bit confused as to why we're moving for him. Seems needless atm. #lufc— Paddy Gunn (@HarteandSoul) July 30, 2016
Perico - if ever there was a game to shine in, it should be against a side that has fluctuated between Series A & B, like cagliari do. #lufc— Mersey-White (@MerseyWhite) July 30, 2016
Good performance, well played by all. Not convinced by Perico, nowhere near Berardi for me #lufc— Lucas Gibson (Gibbo) (@LucasG1998) July 30, 2016
Perico was very blah. One decent defensive header but looked lost other than that. Obviously not match sharp. #lufc— Paddy Gunn (@HarteandSoul) July 30, 2016
Whether Perico has done enough to earn a contract at Leeds remains to be seen, but Garry Monk spoke positively about the Italian defender after the match.
Leeds are short of options at the back currently, and are believed to be keen on adding a few more signings before the start of the campaign.
Leeds have added six players to their squad so far this summer, but Monk is eager to further strengthen his team.
The Whites begin their season with a match against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road next weekend.
