The midfielder is the only major signing to arrive at Arsenal so far this summer.
Xhaka is Arsenal’s only major signing this summer after completing a move from Borussia Monchengladbach before Euro 2016.
There is high expectation on his shoulders, with Gunners fans having watched him put in several impressive performances for Switzerland at the tournament in France.
Indeed there is pressure on the squad in general, with many demanding to see improvement after their title collapse last season.
And Xhaka says he realised quickly how high the expectation is at the Emirates.
“We will give our all to win something,” he told the club’s official website.
“I’ve already noticed how high the expectation levels are at this club. You realise that quickly. But we’ll go from game to game and will make sure that we’re well prepared for every game.”
It remains to be seen if Arsenal can be successful next season in what is gearing up to be the most competitive Premier League campaign in a number of years.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all looking to improve while Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City will be keen to build on last year's efforts.
That makes the fight for the top four, never mind the title, a highly competitive one to say the least and it will be intriguing to see if Arsenal can keep themselves in the mix.
