HITC Sport understands Championship side want pair for promotion push
Both Forshaw and Nugent are only on the fringes of the first-team at Boro, and Wolves believe the pair could play big roles in a promotion push.
Middlesbrough's David Nugent in action
Wolves are hoping their relationship with Peter Kenyon - who played a part in negotiating the takeover of the club by Chinese billionaire Guo Guangchang - will help as he also works very closely with Middlesbrough chief Steve Gibson and they believe he can help broker a quick deal.
Forshaw joined Boro in January 2015 when they paid Wigan Athletic over £2 million for his signature, but he has been limited to just 15 league starts since making the move with most of his action coming from the substitutes bench and that looks unlikely to change in the coming season with Boro having added Dutch ace Marten de Roon to their central midfield department, paying over £12million for his signature.
Adam Forshaw of Middlesbrough celebrates after the game
Nugent arrived at The Riverside last summer in a deal from Leicester City and he performed well scoring eight goals from 24 starts, but with Alvaro Negredo joining this summer he looks unlikely to be starting, and so like Forshaw is now on the radar of a number of Championship clubs.
