The Argentina international has enjoyed a turnaround of fortunes at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham's Erik Lamela in action
Erik Lamela has spoken of the affinity he has with Tottenham fans, in quotes published by the London Evening Standard.
The 24-year old struggled to adapt to life in England, following a big-money move from Roma in 2013, but he has recently become a fan favourite and is now enjoying his time at White Hart Lane.

“I enjoy playing for the club and get on well with all the players, the staff and supporters,” said Lamela.
"I feel a big connection with the club and especially the fans who have always supported me so much."
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino’s system demands a high work-rate and a high intensity press from everyone on the pitch and Lamela has proven himself to be one of the most adept in the Spurs squad at carrying out his instructions.
The Argentine showed flashes of his quality in his first season at the club but lacked the physicality for the Premier League and was hampered by injury.

He then appeared to focus heavily on gym work and enjoyed a much improved second campaign with the help of his new-found strength.
Last season was his best yet and his quality on the ball is starting to consistently shine through now that he is fully accustomed to life in England.
Spurs fans have taken to the elegant midfielder and now view him as one of the most important players in the current squad.
