Leeds United fans are currently getting excited ahead of the new season, with Garry Monk and his coaching team looking like a promising match with the Yorkshire club.

Of course many will also point out that there was a similar feeling around the club when they appointed Uwe Rosler last summer.

He didn’t last long however. Leeds had an indifferent start to the 2015-16 season and Massimo Cellino gave the German the boot, appointing Steve Evans as his replacement.

Now, in an interesting twist, Leeds United will be facing off against their former boss in the League Cup in just 11 days.

Rosler was confirmed as the new manager of League One outfit Fleetwood Town – who Leeds have been drawn to face in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

Leeds fans have certainly seen the funny side of this appointment and twist of fate.

On Twitter many were warning Fleetwood fans not to expect much of the German and were also laughing at what they feel is now a likely cup exit at the hands of their old boss…
