Stones started the game and played for 69 minutes, despite being linked with a move to Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

City manager Pep Guardiola was recently quoted as saying by BBC Sport that he is interested in signing the England international defender this summer.

Stones, who is only 22 years of age, is primarily a central defender who can also play as a right-back.
