The Manchester United youngster is reportedly surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
Manchester United's Timothy Fosu Mensah
A report yesterday by the Daily Mail named Timothy Fosu Mensah among the group of players unfancied by Jose Mourinho at Manchester United – and if true, Spurs should do all they can to lure him to London.
Spurs fans saw the 18-year old’s qualities first-hand when United visited White Hart Lane last season, and he is just the type of young player who would thrive under Mauricio Pochettino.

The scoreline that day finished 3-0 to Tottenham but it was only after Fosu-Mensah was replaced by Matteo Darmian that the Lilywhites managed to break through the Red Devils’ rearguard.

Fosu-Mensah is a powerfully built and technically gifted defender who operates primarily as a centre-back but who is also more than capable at right-back.
Spurs lack direct cover for Toby Alderweireld – with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Dominic Ball as yet unproven in the Premier League – and Fosu Mensah would be an ideal option.

He could also be used as an alternative to Kyle Walker, given that Kieran Trippier and DeAndre Yedlin have yet to really prove they are up to the required standard at Spurs.
Any deal between United and Spurs will be difficult to orchestrate however, with the Manchester club unlikely to want to strengthen a direct rival and relationships strained after the Lilywhites capture of Zeki Fryers back in 2013.
Despite that, Fosu-Mensah remains a real talent and if it is true that he is unwanted at Old Trafford, then Spurs should be right at the front of the queue to offer him a new home.
