Tottenham took on Spanish club Atletico at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on Friday.
The North London outfit lost the pre-season friendly game 1-0, thanks to Diego Godin’s goal in the 40th minute.
Janssen started the match and gave a good account of himself, leading former Arsenal and Sunderland striker Quinn to sing his praises.
“Really good day for him,” said Quinn about Janssen on Sky Sports 1 on Friday afternoon (July 29, 2016) following the pre-season friendly match between Tottenham and Atletico. “I actually enjoyed his performance.”
“What’s good, I think, in their absence is that he put a little flag up to say, ‘Hey I am not too bad. I can play a part this season’,” added the former Manchester City striker. “I think that’s important.”
Janssen is a very good and promising young striker, and the 22-year-old should be pleased with his display against Atletico.
The Netherlands international’s link-up play was excellent, and he also came close to scoring with a free kick in the second half of the encounter.
The youngster moved to Tottenham from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the summer transfer window.
Janssen scored 27 goals and created 56 chances in 34 Eredivisie matches for AZ during the 2015-16 season.
The striker had a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 55%, and won 21 headers, 35 dribbles and 21 tackles.
