New Arsenal signing Rob Holding has reacted to his Gunners debut to the club’s official website.

The youngster is one of three new signings at the Emirates this summer alongside Granit Xhaka and Takuma Asano.

There are high hopes on the defender’s future after he was named Bolton Wanderers player of the year despite their relegation to League One last season.

He made his debut on Friday, featuring in his side’s win over the MLS All-Star team, coming up against the likes of Didier Drogba, Kaka and Andrea Pirlo.

And reacting to his performance, he says he thinks he did well on his first outing as an Arsenal player.

“I think I did all right,” he told the club’s official website.

“It would have topped it off had my header gone in from that corner. That would have been a bit of a glory moment, but I'll keep working on it and it will come hopefully.”

It will now be interesting to see if Holding is a regular in the Arsenal line up next season following the injury to Per Mertesacker.

The German is set to miss five months of the season, and with Laurent Koscielny also set to miss the start of the season after his exertions are Euro 2016, the Gunners have something of a defensive crisis on their hands.

It provides Holding with the perfect chance to secure a first team spot though, and he will be keen to build on this strong debut.
