The reported Leeds United target has seemingly terminated his contract with the Italian club.
It was reported by Tuttomercatoweb earlier this week that Leeds were favourites to sign the 28-year-old winger this summer.
With that being, another Italian outlet in Gazza Mercato claimed yesterday that Bari were on course to bring the former Catania man to Stadio San Nicola.
And it appears as if Martinho is certainly bound for a new club as Quotidiano report that he terminated his contract with Carpi - who were relegated from Serie A last season - this afternoon as a new adventure seems imminent.
Time will tell whether or not that is Leeds, but manager Garry Monk did say to LUTV on Thursday that his plan was to sign at least one player before their Championship season kicks off at Loftus Road on Sunday week.
Monk has signed six new players this summer but it remains to be seen whether a winger is high on his list of priorities. Other areas such as right-back, and potentially left-back with Charlie Taylor's future looking uncertain, seem more pressing.
Before their visit to QPR, Leeds host Serie A outfit Atalanta at Elland Road tomorrow in one last chance for the 38-year-old manager to gauge the readiness of his side before the season starts.
