Hull City have made loan bids for Liverpool’s Christian Benteke and Wilfried Bony of Manchester City, according to The Times.

However, according to the report, Hull are unlikely to be able to sign either of the strikers.

That’s because Liverpool and City reportedly want Benteke and Bony respectively to leave on permanent deals.

"Hull are yet to make a senior signing this summer — one of the reasons Bruce reluctantly decided to step down after four years at the club — with concerns growing within the first-team squad at the lack of strengthening ahead of their return to the Premier League," states the report in The Times.

“It is understood the players have been told that loan bids have been made for Liverpool’s Christian Benteke and Wilfried Bony, of Manchester City, although with both players likely to be sold by their respective clubs, the prospect of success is minimal."

Benteke scored nine goals and created 30 chances in 29 Premier League appearances for Liverpool last season.

The Belgium international striker scored one goal and created five chances in seven Europa League matches for the Reds during the 2015-16 campaign.

Bony scored four goals and created 13 chances in 26 Premier League games for City last season.

The Ivory Coast international striker scored two goals and created six chances in five Champions League matches for the Citizens during the 2015-16 campaign.

Hull will feature in the Premier League next season after winning promotion from the Championship via the playoffs at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

The Tigers are without a manager at the moment following the departure of Steve Bruce this month.
