Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour suggested on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, July 29) that West Ham United can progress past the Europa League qualifying third round.
West Ham suffered a 2-1 defeat to NK Domzale away from home in the first leg of the tie on Thursday evening.
The Hammers will head into the second leg as favourites, but ideally they would have wanted to win the first leg.
Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour believes that the London outfit can win the second leg at home and progress to the next stage of the Europa League qualifying.
The former England international has suggested that West Ham should look at Celtic for inspiration.
The Scottish Premiership giants lost 1-0 to Lincoln Red Imps FC away from home in the Champions League qualifying second-round tie.
The Bhoys staged a stunning comeback at Celtic Park in the second leg last week and won 3-0 to progress to the qualifying third round 3-1 on aggregate to set up a meeting with FC Astana.
“All the players will be disappointed, but I am not going to take too much into it at the moment,” said Parlour on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, July 29).
“Look at Celtic last week. They came through in the end, so I am hoping that West Ham can get the job done at home.”
