Derby County manager Nigel Pearson has told The Sun (print edition, page 57, Friday, July 29, 2016) that Jeff Hendrick will not leave the club in the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun (print edition, page 57, Friday, July 29, 2016), Burnley are interested in signing Hendrick from Derby this summer.
Pearson has made it clear that the Republic of Ireland international will not leave Derby this summer.
“I don’t see him leaving,” Pearson told The Sun (print edition, page 57, Friday, July 29, 2016) about Hendrick’s future. “I see him playing a big part for us this season.”
Hendrick has been on the books of Derby his entire career so far and is regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Championship.
The 24-year-old scored two goals and created 28 chances in 32 Championship appearances for the Rams last season.
The midfielder had a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 35%, and won 28 headers, 31 dribbles and 23 tackles.
In four appearances for the Republic of Ireland at the 2016 European Championship in France this summer, Hendrick created three chances, had a pass accuracy of 77% and a shot accuracy of 50%, and won eight headers, two dribbles and two tackles.
