Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has taken to Instagram to demonstrate he is hard at work ahead of the new season.
Spurs are currently in Melbourne competing in the International Champions Cup but the Belgian was among those given extra time off after taking part in the Euros this summer and didn’t travel with the squad.
The bulk of the first-team have stayed behind to train at Hotspur Way and Alderweireld posted this video of a high intensity stint on the battle ropes:
The 27-year old was a star performer for Spurs last season, following his move from Atletico Madrid, and he finished up as arguably the best centre-back in the Premier League.

The Austrian is likely to be Alderweireld’s partner on August 13th when Spurs travel to Goodison Park to kick off their Premier League campaign, with Vertonghen sidelined with a knee ligament injury.
