Sunderland could bring in a number of new players in the weeks ahead.
Sunderland have a no manager in the form of David Moyes and Sam Allardyce’s replacement has a big job on his hands this summer bringing in the players who can strengthen the Black Cats.
Here we take a look at the top five players to have been linked with Sunderland this week:
Yann M’Vila (Sunderland Echo)
Following his loan spell at the Stadium of Light last season, Yann M’Vila is expected to become Moyes’ first permanent signing at the club.
M’Vila is currently on the books at Russian club Rubin Kazan but the latest report claims he will take a pay cut to force through a move back to England.
Considering Moyes signed Marouane Fellaini for both Everton and Manchester United, it is no surprise to see the Belgian international linked with yet another reunion with his former boss.
Fellaini may not be every United fan’s cup of tea but he always does what is asked of him and it will be interesting to see if Jose Mourinho sanctions a move in due course.
Speaking of United players, Moyes is also said to be keen to bring Adnan Januzaj to Sunderland.
The winger was given his debut under the Scot and he quickly became a key player at Old Trafford, only to struggle for minutes under Louis van Gaal.
Mourinho is known to be a fan of Januzaj; however a loan move would not be beyond the realms of possibility.
Yet another United player linked with Sunderland is striker Will Keane, whose career has been blighted by injury thus far.
Once touted as the next big thing at Old Trafford, the tall striker would be a big hit at the Black Cats if he played regularly and fulfilled his considerable potential.
Moving on to defenders now, with Aston Villa player Micah Richards believed to be a target for Sunderland.
Moyes is reportedly prepared to pay his £5million release clause as he bids to strengthen a back-line that only tightened up in the final few months of the last campaign.
