Burnley boss Sean Dyche has told the Glasgow Evening Times that Mark Warburton has done a fantastic job at Rangers.

Warburton took charge of the Gers last season following his departure from Brentford.

It proved to be a fine first year in charge for him too as they won the Scottish Championship and secured their return to the top flight.

They also made it to the Scottish Cup final, beating Celtic on the way, although that ended with disappointment in the defeat to Hibernian.

He has received widespread praise for his work so far, and Dyche has added his voice, saying it is fantastic what they have done so far.

“It is fantastic what Rangers have done under Warburton and his staff there. It was a great season for them,” he told the Glasgow Evening Times.

“Warbo has done a great job in moulding the team he assembled into what he wanted. It will be down to him and his players whether they have to adapt that slightly at a higher level and in a stronger division.”

It now remains to be seen if Rangers can continue their fine work in the Scottish Premiership next season.

There is a lot of pressure on their shoulders heading into the campaign, with Gers fans hoping to see them challenge Celtic for the title.

If they are to do so, they will need to adapt to the increase in standard quickly and Warburton will be hoping that proves to be the case.
