According to reports from the Sun, Premier League outfit Swansea City are planning a surprise £3 million swoop for Peter Crouch.

Crouch has proven to be a key figure in the Stoke City side since joining the club from Tottenham Hotspur for a then club record fee of around £10 million back in the summer of 2011.

Following four seasons as the first choice striker, the 35-year-old struggled for regular first team football for Stoke last term though, after being afforded only 456 minutes of action in the Premier League by manager Mark Hughes.

As a result of the lack of first team football coming his way, Crouch went on to admit back in April that he was frustrated at the Britannia Stadium and dropped a huge hint that he would be leaving this summer (Daily Mirror).
