Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been shortlisted for Uefa's Save of the Season award, for two stops at Euro 2016.

The Frenchman had a strong European Championship tournament as he captained his country to the final in Paris, only to suffer disappointment as Portugal scored an injury time goal to lift the trophy. His superb saves against Iceland and Germany were both nominated.

It came off the back of another impressive season in North London, with Spurs challenging for the Premier League title and finishing in third spot, their highest position since the 1980s.

If anything, Tottenham fans will be able to point to at least a couple of saves Lloris made in their colours over the last 12 months that should have made the list, with stunning stops against West Brom and Crystal Palace coming to mind.

But despite his club form being ignored, supporters of the 29-year-old will be delighted to know that Lloris is the only goalkeeper to be nominated more than once.

The winner of the vote will be announced ahead of the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League group stage draw on August 25, and supporters can go to the Uefa website to have their say.
