Morrison has spent the last year in the footballing wilderness having failed to make an impact at Serie A side Lazio and has been linked with a return to England with relegated Aston Villa.

Villa have been made odds on favourites to sign Ravel Morrison by bookmakers BETVICTOR, moving in from 4/1 to 4/6 in recent days.

Morrison a wasted talent

Morrison left West Ham under a cloud when he was dumped by former boss Sam Allardyce after a string of discipline issues in East London.

He sealed cult hero status with Hammers fans when he scored one of the goals of the season on the way to a memorable 3-0 win at White Hart Lane back in the 2013/14.

All his good work was undone, though, and he faced further disciplinary problems in Italy where he has played just three times for the Rome side.

Morrison took to Twitter to post a video of him scoring an audacious chipped 'Panenka' penalty in a pre-season friendly against Serie B side SPAL.
