Duffy has become one of the hottest properties on the market this summer following his impressive displays for the Republic of Ireland at the European Championships in France.
He starred alongside Derby County defender Richard Keogh as Martin O’Neill’s men beat the much fancied Italy 1-0 in the final group game to progress to the knockout stages.
Duffy, 24, stands at 6ft 4inch and began his career at Everton before joining Blackburn in 2014, going on to make 60 Championship appearances over the past two campaigns.
Brighton are intent on strengthening their squad as they aim to go one better than their third-placed finish and ensuing playoff semi-final defeat last season and earn promotion to the top-flight.
With popular defender and club captain Gordon Greer leaving the Amex Stadium at the end of last season, there is a void to fill at the heart of Brighton’s defence and Duffy represents a sound choice.
Blackburn have already lost one centre-back in Grant Hanley as the Scot joined Newcastle United this summer, and they will find it hard to fend off interest in Duffy with Brighton leading the way.
