Everton boss Ronald Koeman has told the club’s official Twitter channel that he was not happy with the way his side played in the first half of their friendly against Milton Keynes Dons yesterday.

The Toffees went into the break 2-1 up at stadium:mk, but Koeman was not pleased with their display.

The Dutch manager claimed that his side’s pressing game was poor, and he felt their passing lacked tempo.

“I’m not really happy,” Koeman said when asked to assess Everton’s performance.

“We didn’t play well in the first 45 minutes. The pressing was not good enough. That was the problem, and the tempo in our passing was not very high.”

Even though Koeman was not entirely satisfied with Everton’s performance, they still breezed past MK Dons.

The League One side could not cope with Everton’s attacking class throughout the contest.

Koeman’s men raced into a 2-0 lead when Gerard Deulofeu and Ross Barkley fired them into the lead.

MK Dons did pull one back through Giorgio Rasolu, but Everton put a gloss on the scoreline when Muhamed Besic netted late on.

Everton’s next friendly comes against Dynamo Dresden on Friday.
