Tottenham Hotspur's deal for Georges-Kevin N'Koudou seems to have been in the works for an age, and calciomercato.com claim that the hold-up is because Spurs are waiting for Clinton N'Jie to complete his exit from White Hart Lane.

Spurs have earmarked N'Koudou as the next addition to their squad, and the 21-year-old Marseille winger looks set to be the latest player to join Mauricio Pochettino's project.

Meanwhile, Pochettino is trying to shift N'Jie after the Cameroon international endured an unsuccessful first season in England following his move from Lyon last summer.

N'Jie has been in talks with Marseille over a move back to Ligue 1 in recent weeks, and appears to have chosen the club over a return to his former side despite Lyon's interest.

However, the 22-year-old's move is being held up as he needs to renew his working visa to return to France, although his latest injury problem is not expected to derail the move.

According to calciomercato.com, once N'Jie's switch to Marseille - which is likely to be a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer- is completed, Spurs will be able to announce N'Koudou's move in the opposite direction.

The report claims that all negotiations, both between the two clubs and between N'Koudou and Spurs, have alreayd been agreed and completed, and that N'Jie's delay is all that is holding up the exchange.

N'Koudou is expected to cost around €11 million (£9.1 million) when his move is eventually completed.
