The Magpies have been busy so far this summer, with seven new signings arriving at the club.
Benitez has been keen to build a squad capable of challenging for the Championship and an immediate return to the Premier League.

He is determined to bring in more faces to continue the building process though, with cover in defence and attack particularly needed.
And he has admitted that they are still working in the transfer window behind the scenes and are close to more signings.
“Still we have some things behind the scenes and we are close,” he told the Chronicle.
“The main thing for me is to be sure we can bring the players we need to improve the squad.”

It remains to be seen what further signings that Benitez will make given the work he has already done.
A forward seems highly likely given that both Papiss Cisse and Georginio Wijnaldum have both departed this summer, with the Dutchman’s goals in desperate need of replacing in the side.
Further options in defence also seem likely, with that area of the team struggling again last season and considered by many as a weak spot for several years.
