Peterborough United striker Shaquille Coulthirst scored twice against Leeds United in a friendly match.
Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has claimed that he has told Leeds United manager Garry Monk that he cannot sign Shaquille Coulthirst this summer.
Coulthirst scored both of Posh’s goals in their 2-1 friendly victory over Leeds on Saturday, and it seems that his performance caught the attention of Monk.
No we told Gary M a firm no on Saturday lol. And if the Italian Stallion calls me, ill say no in Italian ha. https://t.co/qNc8dLunZ1— Darragh MacAnthony (@DMAC102) July 26, 2016
Whether MacAnthony’s tweet was serious is up for debate, as it would be somewhat of a surprise if Leeds were interested in Coulthirst.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man has struggled to make an impact at the ABAX Stadium since joining last January.
Coulthirst was given plenty of chances to impress for Posh last term, but he only found the back of the net on three occasions.
Leeds have also already brought in two new forwards this summer, in the shape of Marcus Antonsson and Kemar Roofe.
Leeds are believed to be prioritising signing a central-midfielder at this current moment in time.
