The Gunners have made just one major signing this summer.

Arsenal legend Frank McLintock has told talkSPORT that they are running out of players to target this summer.

The Gunners have only made one big move so far, with Granit Xhaka arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach before Euro 2016.

They have met frustration in their other pursuits though, with Jamie Vardy turning down a move in favour of staying at champions Leicester City.

That has annoyed Gunners fans, who have watched the club’s main rivals all spending big money on signings in the transfer window.

And McLintock is one of those who is frustrated, claiming his old side are running out of players to target.

“I think Arsenal fans have got their hands ready to grab him by the throat and ask him why he isn’t buying a centre forward, a midfield player and a centre-half,” he told talkSPORT.

“All the other top clubs appear to have bought three or four players yet we’re still trying to get a last-minute buy, which seems crazy. You’re running out of time and running out of players to go for. That’s the problem.”

It now remains to be seen if Arsenal can pull off any more big signings in the remainder of the transfer window.

Their lack of movement has certainly been surprising to say the least, especially considering that their main rivals have all strengthened this summer.

Should they fail to make any further additions, it is likely to be a tough ask for them to make it into the top four given that their direct competitors have moved early with big-money signings.
