Celtic take on Astana in the Champions League qualifiers this afternoon.

Celtic starting line-up: Gordon; Lustig, Ambrose, O'Connell; Roberts, Armstrong, Brown, McGregor, Tierney; Dembele, Griffiths.

Celtic substitutes: Fasan, Izaguirre, Janko, Bitton, Rogic, Forrest, Ciftci.

Celtic's Champions League qualifying campaign continues this afternoon as they face Kazakhstani outfit Astana at the Astana Arena.

The Bhoys avoided an upset in the last round by seeing off Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar, and are back in Champions League action having played Leicester in a friendly on Saturday.

In the last couple of games, manager Brendan Rodgers has stuck with a 3-5-2 system, and he goes with the same formation again despite his depleted options in defence.

Erik Sviatchenko and Jozo Simunovic are both out injured, whilst new signing Kolo Toure isn't yet fit to play, meaning youngster Eoghan O'Connell starts having scored against Leicester.

Efe Ambrose and Mikael Lustig make up the rest of the back three, whilst Patrick Roberts and Kieran Tierney will offer width, with Stuart Armstrong, Scott Brown and Callum McGregor in the heart of midfield.

Summer signing Moussa Dembele again partners Leigh Griffiths in attack, meaning Nadir Ciftci has to make do with a place on the bench.

Ciftci is joined by full backs Emilio Izaguirre and Saidy Janko, whilst Nir Bitton - a key player under predecessor Ronny Deila - is only on the bench for Rodgers today, along with James Forrest and Tom Rogic.
