Charlton Athletic are lining up deals for Anton Ferdinand, Louis Thompson and Declan Rudd, HITC Sport understands.

HITC Sport understands that Ferdinand is training with Russell Slade's side with a view to signing a deal with The Addicks, who are looking to win promotion straight back to the Championship following their relegation last season.

Former QPR and Sunderland defender Ferdinand was released by Reading at the end of last season, despite the fact he featured in 19 games for the club but now he is looking at linking up with Charlton and is set to be offered a deal once he has proved his fitness.

Charlton boss Slade has made a number of signings already this summer and he is also looking to add Norwich duo Declan Rudd and Louis Thompson.

Norwich are set to agree loan deals for both players, who are set to spend the season on loan at The Valley.

Former Swindon Town midfielder Thompson has spent the last three campaigns on loan back at the County Ground from Norwich, but the 21-year-old is now set to link-up with The Addicks.

Norwich's Declan Rudd

Goalkeeper Rudd featured nearly a dozen times for Norwich last season but with Northern Ireland ace Michael McGovern arriving, he has now been pushed down the pecking order and he is set to join Thompson on loan with The Addicks.
