Besiktas president Fikret Orman has declared his interest in signing Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, as reported by Sky Sports.
Orman claimed that if Balotelli was not deemed such a trouble-maker, his club would not have any chance of signing him, as quoted by Sky Sports.
Balotelli endured a tough time on loan at AC Milan last season
"Mario Balotelli is the type of footballer that our fans can associate themselves with," he said. "I'm pretty sure he would attract great attention. To be fair, if he wasn't deemed as a trouble-maker, he wouldn't be rumoured to be joining us. But we can show some effort and create solutions for Balotelli's infamous troubles.
"I think he can change with the attention and care he'll receive in Turkey. In short, we want Mario Balotelli and he wants us too."
The 25-year-old former Manchester City and Inter Milan striker has failed to establish himself on Merseyside following his £16 million move to Liverpool in the summer of 2014 and has managed just four goals in 28 outings for the club.
Mario Balotelli's Liverpool career has never really taken off
It seemed a strange signing at the time from then Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, who was renowned for his high intensity pressing game.
Balotelli was notorious for his total lack of interest in closing down the opposition defence, and with the arrival of Jurgen Klopp and his similar philosophy to Rodgers, it was always going to be a hard task for the Italian to force his way into the German's starting XI.
Whether or not the enigmatic Balotelli will ever rediscover his mojo is anyone's guess, but maybe by following the long list of ex-Premier League stars who have made the move to Turkey, he could begin to rebuild his career and prove to the world what he is truly capable of.
SkyBet have cut the odds on Balotelli moving to Besiktas from 4/1 to 2/1, but they still have Fiorentina as favourites in the race for the Italian's signature at 6/5.
