After being seemingly on the verge of a deal for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, West Ham United could now lose out to an unexpected rival.

According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are considering a move for the 29-year-old, who is said to want Champions League football.

However, the latest SkyBet odds suggest West Ham will need to overtake Everton and Leicester City if they are to land Brady, after their odds drifted to 9/2.

Meanwhile, another Hammers player is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, after Cresswell.

Head of medical and sports science Stijn Vandenbroucke has told the club's official website that playmaker Manuel Lanzini will return to the Olympic Stadium for tests after suffering a knee injury while playing for Argentina, which will rule him out of Rio 2016.
