According to reports from Butfootballclub.fr, Nantes are preparing to make a swoop for Ishak Belfodil as a potential replacement for Yacine Bammou.
Despite playing a key role in helping Nantes reestablish themselves in the French Ligue 1 over the past few seasons, Bammou has been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Rene Girard ahead of the upcoming campaign.
While Bammou may not be required by Nantes, a number of English sides are said to be keen on recruiting the Moroccan international this summer.
Recently, reports from L'Equipe had claimed that Aston Villa had registered an interest in signing Bammou and that the Championship club would be ready to swoop in for the 24-year-old for a reasonable price.
Now as a potential boost to Villa’s hopes of securing the services of Bammou, reports from Butfootballclub.fr have claimed that Nantes are lining up a replacement for the striker in the form of Belfodil.
While Nantes are currently facing something of a crisis in terms of numbers in attack due to the lack of match fitness of duo Emiliano Sala and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, the chase for Belfodil is a strong indication that they are ready to get rid of Bammou and Villa now certainly stand a good chance of signing the towering attacker.
