Albin Ekdal has been strongly linked with a move to Leeds United recently.
Albin Ekdal’s agent, Martin Klette, has ruled out a move for the Hamburg midfielder to Leeds United in the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Strong rumours have linked Ekdal with Leeds recently, as Garry Monk’s side search for a central-midfielder.
However, Klette insists that his client would not consider making a move to the Championship.
“He would not play in the Championship,” he said.
The rumours linking Leeds with Ekdal may stem from the fact that he has played with Cagliari earlier in his career, when Massimo Cellino was owner.
Leeds are thought to be on the verge of completing the signing of a midfielder from abroad, but the target’s name remains unknown.
Monk has made the addition of a central midfielder a priority, following the departure of Lewis Cook to Bournemouth.
Leeds are interested in Sunderland’s Liam Bridcutt, but they have failed to agree a price yet.
So far this summer Monk’s side have brought in six new signings, as the Whites bolster their side for the new campaign.
