The Hammers brought the curtain down on 112 years of history at their beloved Boleyn Ground at the end of the season with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Manchester United.

And now all eyes are on their big move to the 60,000 seater Olympic Stadium down the road in Stratford.

The stadium transformation has been moving at a pace with the new club shop now open and various finishing touches being applied.

Major milestone for big move

But one of the most important elements of the move has taken place as the clock ticks down to the club's opening game against NK Domzale in the Europa League next Thursday night (August 4th).

That's because the club's groundstaff at what is being called the London Stadium have taken delivery of the two most important things on a football pitch... the goals.

And the club took to Twitter to reveal the first pictures of the goals arriving at the ground with the message: "The London Stadium groundstaff have taken delivery of some rather important pieces of equipment today."

Meanwhile, the club also took to Twitter to reveal that work on the home dressing room is approaching completion with a series of pictures.

Historic games loom large

While the Hammers will be playing the second leg of their Europa League qualifier against Domzale as the first game at their new home, the official opening match at the stadium comes against Italian and European giants Juventus on August 7 ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

West Ham have sold 52,000 season tickets for their new ground, the second most in the Premier League behind Manchester United.

Club chairman Karren Brady has hailed the move 'the most successful migration in football history'.
