Lille's skillful Moroccan attacker Sofiane Boufal is a man in demand this summer, with Watford one of a number of sides that have been linked with a deal according to Sky Sports.

But even though the Ligue 1 side are holding out for a fee of over £15 million, something that is proving problematic for any outfit pursuing him, the report suggests the player himself would be happy to agree with a move to Vicarage Road.

If true, it is encouraging news for Watford as they seek to sprinkle a little quality on a squad tha finished an impressive 13th in the Premier League last season.

A player of his versatility and flair is always likely to be in high demand at the top clubs around, so it would represent a huge coup if the Hornets manage to steal a march on their rivals and agree a transfer.

The 22-year-old can play across all attacking positions, scoring 12 times in 35 games last season. Watford are putting a lot of work into redeveloping their attacking roster this summer, with improving strength in depth and adding variety to their squad seemingly important for new manager Walter Mazzarri.

Tottenham and Chelsea are just two other clubs who have been linked Boufal this summer, by the likes of the Mirror, with interest from mainland Europe also present, so Watford would do well to move quickly if they want to avoid a bidding war for a player of his talent and potential.
