According to Sky Sports, Leicester City’s owners have met to discuss the future of Riyad Mahrez.

The Algerian winger was the star of the show last season as he set the Premier League alight with 18 goals and 11 assists.

He was a key player in their title winning success; so much so that he went on to win the PFA Player of the Year at the end of the season.

A number of top European sides have been linked with his signature as a result, although a report from Eurosport on Friday claimed it was Arsenal winning the race for his signature.

That appears to be just a rumour at present, but it appears to have triggered a response from those higher up at the club nonetheless.

He was not the only player mentioned in the talks though according to the report, With Kasper Schmeichel also reportedly on the agenda.

It is likely that new contract offers could be on the table in the near future, with the club keen to ensure nobody else follows N’Golo Kante out the door.
