Liverpool have made seven new signings this summer in a busy window for Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds have been one of the busier teams in the transfer window so far as manager Jurgen Klopp has brought in seven new signings to date.
The latest of those was Georginio Wijnaldum, who completed a £25million move from Newcastle United on Friday.
So many new faces means there is now competition for places in nearly every position in the side, leaving Klopp with decisions to make all over the pitch.
And Coutinho says that kind of competition is a good thing and it leaves him confident for the upcoming season.
“[The new signings are] very good for Liverpool and the squad because there is good competition to play,” he told the club’s official website.
“Everybody wants to be involved and that’s good for the club. I am confident for this season. I think everyone feels confident. Last season we had some opportunities but couldn’t take them.”
It now remains to be seen what sort of line up Klopp will elect to go with next season after his work in the transfer window.
He has decisions to make all over the pitch and given the fees they have paid for the likes of Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum, it is expected that they will be regular starters.
Players will have to make way for them though and it will be interesting to see who finds himself on the bench at the beginning of next season and who is gone altogether.
