Leicester City star Marc Albrighton has told the Daily Mail that it would be great if they were to meet Celtic in the Champions League this season.

The two sides recently clashed in the International Champions Cup in a thrilling game at Celtic Park.

They played out a superb 1-1 draw before the Premier League champions ran out winners in the penalty shootout.

It was a fascinating game between the Scottish and English champions, who are set to compete in the Champions League next season also.

And Albrighton says that it would be great if the two sides could meet again after their recent clash.

“There was a moment in the second half when the Celtic fans were all doing the Poznan dance and it was amazing,” he told the Daily Mail.

“It’s fantastic to see and I can only dream of what it would be like on a Champions League night at Celtic Park. It would be great if we could play them this season.”

First of all Celtic will have to negotiate their way into the group stages before thinking of a potential reunion with Leicester.

They will be confident of beating FC Astana in the next round, but the clash against the Kazakhstan side will not be an easy one by any measure.

Celtic have already had one shock defeat against Lincoln Red Imps in the last round and will know they cannot take anything for granted because of it.
