Celtic new boy Kolo Toure is hoping to see the club secure a deal for Scott Sinclair, The Scottish Sun report.

The duo were part of the same Manchester City team in 2012/13, with Toure leaving for Liverpool at the end of that season.

Toure was released by Liverpool this past June, and completed his move to Celtic as a free agent, adding vital experience and nous to a suspect back line.

Scott Sinclair is a player Celtic have also been targeting this summer, but have run into difficulty with Aston Villa's inflated valuation.

Toure said: "I haven't spoken to him but he's a really good player.

"He's a top professional. I think he's going to be a good player for the club because his attitude is very good as well."

The Sinclair deal is far from done yet though, with The Mail reporting Celtic's £2.75 million bid, their fourth offer, has been turned down with Aston Villa wanting £5 million.

Sinclair like Toure has previously played under Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, during his time at Swansea City.

Negotiations for a deal may drag on through the summer, but if Celtic can get it over the line, Toure will seemingly welcome him with open arms.
