Glenn Hoddle has told talkSPORT that Ronald Koeman at Everton will be intriguing to watch next season.

The Dutchman swapped Southampton for Merseyside earlier this summer as they sought a replacement for Roberto Martinez.

He has been brought in with the hopes he can usher in a new era at Goodison Park under new shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

He is expected to be busy this summer, with the Iranian businessman having offered him a big transfer budget as they seek to become a Champions League team.

It is exciting times for Toffees fans and Hoddle says his appointment at the club is intriguing.

“Ronald Koeman is a terrific coach I think. Him going to Everton is intriguing and they may just surprise everyone,” he told talkSPORT.

It remains to be seen how successful Koeman is in his first season in charge at Everton next year.

Much is likely to rest on the transfer business they do this summer, with several signings needed to improve a squad that has finished 11th in the last two seasons.

If he can do that, preferably with big name captures to complement a group already filled with talent, then there is no denying that they could be challengers under Koeman’s guidance.
