Celtic have seen a fourth bid for Aston Villa winger Scott Sinclair rejected by the Championship club, according to the Daily Mail.

The Mail claims that the Hoops tabled an offer of £2.75m, but Villa turned it down as they hold out for £5m.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star is reporting that Celtic are likely to be interested if Manchester United decide to allow Paddy McNair to leave on loan this season.

The Bhoys - who took Tyler Blackett on loan from the Red Devils last season - may however have to see off competition from several Championship clubs for his signature, the Star claims.

Kolo Toure has told Celtic's official website that he has joined one of the biggest clubs in the world after signing a one-year deal at Parkhead.

The experienced defender has been without a club since leaving Liverpool in the summer, and he explained the excitement he felt having made the move.

"I feel really excited because it's going to be a new challenge for me. I've come to one of the biggest clubs in the world and it's a privilege for me to be here," he told the club's official website.

Peter Lovenkrands - Rangers celebrates his goal for 0-1Peter Lovenkrands

Over at Rangers, former Gers hero Peter Lovenkrands has told BBC Sport that his old side need to sign another defender and striker during this window.

"They need to strengthen up at the back and make sure that they don't let the other team get too many chances. Luckily enough, they're scoring a lot of goals at the other end," he told BBC Sport.

"They need another centre-half and maybe another striker."

It appears that the Light Blues are thinking the same way as Lovenkrands as The Sun (Monday edition, page 56) has reported that they are interested in signing Preston forward Joe Garner.

Wigan Athletic are also interested in the striker, according to The Sun.

Finally, Andy Halliday has issued a warning on Rangers' official website that the club's new signings should not expect him to give up his place in the side easily.

The club have signed nine players this summer, including a handful of midfielders, but Halliday has insisted that he is not preparing to give way for them.

"Nobody should write me off though as I won't be giving up my place lightly, and when you play for this football club, you need to earn the jersey, and someone has to try and take it from me," he told the club's official website
