All of Arsenal's latest news rounded up right here, including transfer updates and latest club news.
Meanwhile, The Sun have reported how Chelsea have seemingly joined the race to sign Riyad Mahrez after the Leicester City man's name was pictured on the back of a Blues shirt on Adidas's official website.
Bordeaux reportedly want to sign the former Newcastle man on a permanent deal, and it is likely he will be sold with Hector Bellerin seen firmly as first-choice right-back at Arsenal.
Per Mertesacker seemed to give Gunners boss Arsene Wenger a subtle hint when it comes to transfers after being quoted by The Sun as saying it was a miracle that Arsenal finished second last term.
"We turned things around at the end but it was kind of a miracle we finished runners-up.," he said. "A lot of transfer business has already been done and it won’t be easy for us this time, especially with all the signings going to the other clubs."
Quite how Wenger will take those comments remains to be seen...
In international football news, FA technical director Dan Ashworth has told The Evening Standard that Arsene Wenger was never first-choice for the England manager post.
"No," he said. "We only offered the job to one person and we offered the job to Sam Allardyce, obviously. There were a lot of rumours about who was favourite and who wasn’t. Wenger being first choice was not the case at all."
And finally, TALKSPORT pundit Stan Collymore has been baiting Gunners fans all week with a series of criticisms aimed at the club.
Firstly he questioned whether star pair Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are actually world-class with this message uploaded to his official Twitter page:
Then he claimed if he were an Arsenal fan, he would seriously be questioning if manager Arsene Wenger has the same hunger as other younger managers making their way in the Premier League, such as Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp, as reported by The Mirror.
