According to L’Equipe, Southampton want to bring Monaco forward Valere Germain to the club.

With Graziano Pelle leaving the Saints for China in a big-money move, the south coast club are seemingly on the lookout for a decent replacement and Gemain has been identified as an option.

The 26-year-old has played under Southampton boss Claudo Puel before, netting 14 league goals while on loan at Nice from Monaco last season.

Real Betis are also said to be in for him, but Southampton would no doubt be the favourable option.

Borussia Dortmund's Matthias Ginter and PAOK Salonika's Giorgos Tzavellas in action

In other news, Borussia Dortmund have warned Premier League teams off midfielder Matthias Ginter.

Eurosport recently credited Arsenal and Southampton with an interest in the versatile German international, yet Tuschel told Sky Sports yesterday how the player will not be leaving Dortmund this summer.

"With Ginter, I think everything is said," Tuchel told Sky Sports. "German clubs wanted to sign him and now English clubs want to sign him.”

"I don't know if everything is true or it is just rumours but we made our point clear - Matthias is our player and stays our player."

Poland's Bartosz Kapustka shoots at goal

Another player Southampton have been linked with is Poland international Bartosz Kapustka (Daily Mail), yet Premier League champions Leicester City are said to be pushing hardest for his signature.

The Foxes have reportedly launched a £6.25 million bid for the 19-year-old, with boss Claudio Ranieri left impressed following his displays in France at the European Championships.

Kapustka is predominantly a central midfielder and currently plays for Polish side Cracovia.
