The report claims that the former Napoli man has been left out of the club’s upcoming US tour and now Leicester are ready to cash in on him after a difficult past 12 months.
The Swizterland international joined Leicester last summer from Serie A side Napoli, a signing which many supporters agreed with as he was originally touted as Esteban Cambiasso’s replacement.
However, Inler soon struggled to adapt to Premier League football, and he lost his way at the King Power Stadium, making only three league starts over the course of the campaign.
With Leicester adding more midfielders to their ranks this summer with the addition of Nampaly Mendy, Inler has fallen further down the pecking order at the East Midlands club.
The 32-year-old is seemingly keen on moving on to revive his career, with the Telegraph going on to say that the midfielder has already held talks with boss Claudio Ranieri over a potential exit.
His absence from Switzerland’s European Championship squad was arguably the final straw for Inler, and now Leicester are willing to grant him his wish and let him go.
It is difficult to envisage the former Napoli man sticking around in the Premier League considering his struggles over the past 12 months, therefore a return to Italy or Germany appears most likely.
