The report claims that the Foxes are keeping close tabs on the forward to see if he has the capabilities to emulate England international Jamie Vardy in the near future.
Vardy’s rise to the top has been well documented, with the 29-year-old once playing non-league football with Fleetwood Town before moving to Leicester and subsequently becoming a Premier League champion.
Hogan has taken a similar route in football, dropping down to non-league with Woodley Sports following his release from Rochdale only to shoot back up the football pyramid.
The 24-year-old impressed with Woodley Sports, netting 21 goals in 27 games before finding himself back at Rochdale, this time establishing himself as a regular with 17 goals in 33 league matches.
Hogan then made the move to Brentford, where at the end of last season he netted an incredible seven goals in his last four matches with braces against Cardiff City, Fulham and Huddersfield Town.
His form has evidently alerted Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri, who last season guided the Foxes to a memorable Premier League title success with a number of unfancied players at his disposal.
Hogan showed at the end of last season his potential, and now Leicester will seemingly be hoping to see him do it on a more regular basis this term before considering making a bid for his services.
