A select round-up of the latest Everton transfer news...

Belgium's Axel Witsel scores their second goal

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton have agreed a £25 million fee for Axel Witsel.

The Belgium international has been heavily linked with an exit from current club Zenit St. Petersburg this summer, and Everton are among the front runners for his signature.

The Toffees are seemingly keen on making a big-money signing under new boss Ronald Koeman and Witsel could be that man after the latest reports from Italy claim the two clubs have agreed on a fee.

Now it is up to Everton to convince him to move to Goodison Park over potential rival offers.

Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi

Another potential arrival on Merseyside could be Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi, with reports in Portugal via The Sun claiming the Toffees are keen on striking a £12.5 million deal for him.

The player is said to be interested in joining up with Koeman at Goodison Park after losing his way both at Porto and on the international stage over the past six months.

The 24-year-old is also linked with a move to Dnyamo Kiev, yet Everton remain the favoured destination.

Iceland's Gylfi Sigurdsson reacts

Steve Walsh’s arrival as the club’s new director of football has seemingly seen Everton push ahead for new signings, and another player they have been linked with is Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Iceland international midfielder is reportedly a top target for the Toffees, yet Swansea have no plans on losing him and according to the Daily Mail, have slapped a £30 million price tag on his head.

New wealthy owner Farhad Moshiri has the funds to make a big splash for Everton this summer, yet such a figure seems excessive and it remains to be seen whether they push ahead with their interest.

Riyad Mahrez celebrates after scoring the first goal for Leicester

Finally, Everton are said to have joined Arsenal in the race for Leicester’s forward Riyad Mahrez (the Mirror).

The Algerian star has travelled with the Foxes on the tour of the US, and boss Claudio Ranieri seems confident of holding on to the coveted player ahead of the new season.

The Mirror go on to say he is valued at £35 million, and Everton’s lack of Champions League football could make any potential deal for the 25-year-old even more difficult to complete.
