Tottenham have been linked with loaning Nabil Bentaleb to Benfica.
Tottenham's Nabil Bentaleb in action with AC Milan's Nigel de Jong
Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has been linked with a loan move to Benfica, report Portuguese newspaper Record.
A loan could turn into a permanent switch at the end of the campaign if the clubs can agree a fee and he impresses, but with a squad as talented as Benfica's, should Spurs attempt to negotiate a swap deal?
Here are three Benfica players they could look to sign?
Benfica forward Anderson Talisca
Brazilian attacker Anderson Talisca arrived at the club two years ago in a blaze of glory, scoring eight goals within his first two months.
Since then his goals have been more sporadic, but he still managed to net nine last season. Talisca plays as an attacking midfielder but can also feature up front, and is only 22.
He has been capped by Brazil and has recently been linked with a move to Liverpool by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
Benfica's Goncalo Guedes in action
Another player who would leave Spurs paying the majority of the cash in any swap deal, Goncalo Guedes is Benfica's brightest prospect.
The 19-year-old winger broke into Benfica's first team last season and has two international caps for Portugal already.
He is valued already at around £30 million and has been compared by PortuGoal and many national media to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Benfica's Lisandro Lopez in action
Looking at the cheaper end of Benfica's squad, a move for Argentine centre-back Lisandro Lopez could be the answer.
The 26-year-old could replace the outgoing Federico Fazio and provide back-up for Kevin Wimmer and Belgian duo Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.
Lopez has won five trophies with Benfica during his time with the club and could help bring a winner's mentality to White Hart Lane.
