Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Spurs have already made two additions to their squad this summer in Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen, but manager Mauricio Pochettino will still be looking for even more additions.
Pochettino has earned a reputation for developing young, English players, as the likes of Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane have all become stars under his tutelage – and he appears to keen to add another English prospect to his ranks.
The Mirror report that Pochettino has now set his sights on Aston Villa teenager Andre Green, and is plotting a move to sign him this summer.
Green, who turns 18 on Tuesday, has come up through the ranks at Villa Park having signed back in 2006, and even made two Premier League appearances last season.
A pacey winger who has represented England at Under-16 and Under-17 levels, Green looks to have a bright future ahead of him – and that future could lie at White Hart Lane.
Having suffered relegation to the Championship though, Villa may be keen to give Green some first-team football next season, and would be reluctant to lose one of their brightest young talents - but the lure of playing for Pochettino could turn Green's head, especially having seen so many English players develop under him.
It remains to be seen just how much Spurs would be willing to offer for Green, or how much Villa would ask for, but the young winger surely won't come cheap given his potential.
