According to Sky Sports (live transfer thread, July 22nd 2016 at 21:40), Swansea City have seen a £7 million bid for Leicester City forward Leonardo Ulloa turned down.

The report claims that the Leicester man is looking to move on this summer in order to play regular first-team football, yet Swansea’s initial bid for the player has ultimately been rejected.

Ulloa joined the Foxes from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2014, playing a role in the club’s Premier League survival two years ago before losing his way somewhat in terms of regular appearances.

During the previous campaign he spent much of his time watching on from the side-lines as boss Claudio Ranieri instead opted for the likes of Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Shinji Okazaki in attack.

With Ahmed Musa joining the club from CSKA Moscow this summer, Ulloa seems to have fallen further down the pecking order at the King Power Stadium and could struggle to feature at all this term.

Swansea are on the search for a new striker after Alberto Paloschi returned to Italy and fellow forward Bafetimbi Gomis looks set to return to France.

The Swans like to play with one upfront and have identified Ulloa as an ideal candidate to lead their attack, placing a £7 million bid for the 29-year-old Argentine star.

However, Leicester evidently feel the Welsh club’s offer was below their valuation of Ulloa and it now remaisn to be seen whether Swansea will go back in with another bid or look at alternative targets.
