Leicester’s talented winger Riyad Mahrez picked up the ball on the winge, gluided inside before clipping a wonderful effort in to the far top corner of Celtic’s net.

The Hoops’, though, responded via Eoghan O’Connell but ultimatey came up short in the shootout as the Foxes triumphed 6-5 with Kasper Schmeichel saving the decisive kick from James Forrest.

The afternoon on the whole was a good one for Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, and his players will feel they handled the Leicester threat well which will put them in good stead against Astana.
