David Moyes is not wasting any time in his new role as Sunderland manager, as according to the Sun, he is set to raid his former club Manchester United for young striker Will Keane.

Moyes was officially unveiled as Sunderland's new manager on Saturday, just a day after Sam Allardyce was confirmed as the new England boss.

And, like his swift appointment, Moyes has not held back in looking for new recruits, and he has identified his former player Will Keane as his first target.

However, Moyes will have to see of competition from Stoke City, who are also said to be keen on Keane.

United are demanding £6.5 million for their academy product, who has made just three appearances for the first team.

The 23 year old is yet to establish himself at Old Trafford, going on loan to clubs including Sheffield Wednesday, Queens Park Rangers and Preston North End in recent times.

His most recent spell at Deepdale was somewhat underwhelming, scoring just the once in 20 appearances, before having his loan abruptly terminated by Louis van Gaal.

Indeed, at present, his career is somewhat stagnating with limited first team opportunities, seeing himself fall in the pecking order behind younger talents like Marcus Rashford.

However, new Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has included Keane in his 25 man tour squad who are currently in China, pipping James Wilson, another young talent, to a spot.

Keane had scored in United's 2-0 preseason win over Wigan Athletic, Mourinho's first match in charge of his new club since joining earlier in the summer.

But despite Keane's inclusion in Mourinho's tour side, the prospect of more regular first team action could prove very alluring to the former England Under-21 international, who will now also face competition from Swedish legendary striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Indeed, with a familiar face in David Moyes showing interest, a move could suit all parties.
