Georginio Wijnaldum scores the third goal for Newcastle from the penalty spot
Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Georginio Wijnaldum’s move to Liverpool.
The Dutchman completed a switch to Anfield on Friday in a £25 million deal, signing a five-year contract with Jurgen Klopp’s side.
He leaves St James Park after just a year at the club, during which he scored 11 goals in all competitions, a tally that saw him finish as their top goalscorer as they were relegated to the Championship.

His large price tag has come as something of a surprise given that Steve McClaren only paid £14 million to bring him to the North East last summer.
And while some Newcastle fans were sorry to see Wijnaldum go, others were pleased at the big price they had secured for his signature.
Concerning the Wijnaldum transfer I just feel bad for the guy who had the new shirt with his name on it in town yesterday. What a shame— Jake Blay (@JakeBlay) 22 July 2016
If Wijnaldum doesn't thank us I swear— Beth (@BethNUFC_) 22 July 2016
Quite happy to see the back of Wijnaldum to be honest, spineless and doesn't show up during BIG games, might work better under klopp however— Hepple (@reecehep12) 22 July 2016
Kinda glad to see Wijnaldum go tbh. Only played well in 4/5 games last season. Our squad is looking really gd 4 Championship #optimistic— Peter Davis (@pfd999) 22 July 2016
Surely we cannot say we are 'happy' to see Wijnaldum go #NUFC. Obviously inevitable but on his day what a player, would've loved him to stay— Dean Craze (@toonlad9) 22 July 2016
The loved Townsend, and the liked Wijnaldum run away before Sissoko did. Just think about that for a second. #NUFC— Jac Talbot (@Jac_Talbot) 22 July 2016
Wijnaldum was absolutely great for Newcastle on his day. Sadly, he only had about 3 or 4 of those days for #NUFC. Not good enough.— JΛY BUCKS (@TheMasterBucks) 22 July 2016
HOW HAVE WE GOT £25M FOR WIJNALDUM ABAHAHAHHA— Ryan. (@RyanNUFC_7) 22 July 2016

It now remains to be seen if Wijnaldum is the final player to leave Newcastle United this summer.
They have already lost Andros Townsend and Wijnaldum and there is fierce speculation regarding the future of Moussa Sissoko after his performances at Euro 2016.
A departure now looks imminent for him too, although the Magpies are sure to demand a big fee for him as they did with Wijnaldum.
